The cards I am applying for are student cards for limited to no history, I want to know what else I need to do to get a credit card when I have no history. I want to get the card just to use for gas, so I can pay it off each month and slowly build some credit. Please Help!

If I want the big discount I open the credit card and then get the discount but I don’t want or need the credit card at all.

Is it better to close down this new card or keep it open with a zero balance? How does opening and closing account affect my credit score?

I recently just got my first credit card ever and used it to make a 00 purchase. The credit limit is 00, so obviously I’m over 50% of the balance, and I just learned that’s bad for credit scores. I expect to be able to pay off the purchase in the next two or three months. Will my credit score go back up immediately after I get the balance on my card down, or will it take a while? Thanks.

I know this isn’t a great idea, so I’m still thinking about it, but my concern is with my credit. My credit is fairly good right now and I’m wondering if I get the card and cancel it shorty after, how long does it take to build the credit I lost from getting & cancelling the card, back to normal? I want to keep one revolving account and one fixed account. Would a bank loan that pays off the student loan look better as a fixed loan? I guess my question is: Do they both count as fixed loans or is the bank loan a more "authentic" fixed loan?

I’m young(21) and trying to establish some more credit. My friend got approved for a Best Buy credit card tonight and his credit isn’t that good. All deny due to no credit history. I obviously can’t get Credit history if they won’t let me have credit. I Work 2 jobs and just want to have one just in case and to actually build my credit. What’s going on and why do i keep getting denied?
