What is the best software / multimedia software and where to buy?

Posted by Chrisstenson Ford 19 June, 2010 (1) Comment

I need software that I can create photo still virtual tours for real estate agents – software that will allow me to embed my finished slideshow onto my website, so that the agent can then be linked to my site to view show. I can only find photo editing software to save slideshow onto DVD, PC or email slideshow, but not software that I can do my project and then put shows onto my webpage.

Can anyone help me?

How do screen spam on your Blackberry which is connected to the company server?

Posted by Chrisstenson Ford 20 January, 2010 (1) Comment

Presently the email comes into the company server and the traffic is sent to the Blackberry service before going through the spam blocker on the server. This results in tons of spam going to the Blackberry!

Diagnosing Electronic Mailing System

Posted by Chrisstenson Ford 15 December, 2009 (0) Comment

YEARS back, a letter would take a minimum of three days before it reaches its destination. It also entails some dime for the envelope, the stamp and postage fees. What is even more annoying is when our letters don’t reach where it is supposed to land.

The lighter side of the old system often referred to as “snail mail”, is that we get to have new stamps to add up to our collection. Kidding aside, the evolution of the Information Technology has brought mankind a long list of convenience. One is the electronic mailing system, otherwise known as email.

Defining Email

Electronic mail, often referred to as e-mail (or simply email), is the modern day message transmittal system. It uses the digital technology of the modern IT era.

This system is primarily based on a model known as store-and-forward using a computer unit hooked up with an internet connection from where web source applications are provided.

Under this particular model, computer servers are able to accept messages in form or a mail. It could also be forwarded to another recipient, delivered to another destination using the same transmittal method and stored for archiving, recording and filing purposes.
Under normal circumstances, an email is sent using a hooked-up computer unit (through the internet) using an email account to another. However, the evolution of smart mobile phones now allows email messages to be transmitted from the computer to a mobile phone or the other way around.
Email has two basic components known as the header and the body. Header provides basic information like the subject and email addresses of the origin (sender) and the recipient(s). The body contains the message itself.
Email system also serves as a messenger. It is capable of attaching files of various formats, after which it could be sent under the normal transmittal method.

How it all began

Email actually came in earlier than the evolution of the Information Technology’s Internet. In fact, it was the electronic mailing system that inspired the inception of the Internet.

It was the Massachusetts Institute of Technology which had a first grand display of the Compatible Time Sharing System way back in 1961, or 30 years before the birth of Information Technology.

Using the IBM 7094, users were able to log-in and connect from a dial up terminal elsewhere. Transmitted messages were stored in a disc. The idea inspired other bright minds to come up with a system that allows information sharing.

Displacing Mailmen, Phasing-out Stamps

Electronic mailing system has literally reduced the need for a postman (or mailman), whose task is to hand-carry letters right on our doorsteps. It has also significantly reduced the need for stamps, which costs us few dimes.

As compared to mailmen, emails deliver letters and other documents or files (attachments) a lot faster. There is also the advantage of quicker interaction as the letter sender (using email) gets the reply in a snap. In turn, email facility has allowed direct exchanges of messages — just the way we want it and getting replies instantaneously at that.

On the positive note, mailmen no longer have to fear pet dogs, chasing them.

There is a better version of the electronic mailing system. It is commonly known as the Instant Messaging (IM) System. Under this messaging system, it allows both the sender the recipient to exchange messages in a flash — just like a typical conversation. IM system is also equipped with features allowing one to send files — in a snap, that is. GP

I use a blackberry pearl and yahoo. Every time I send an email from my blackberry, a copy of it shows in my "sent" folder in Yahoo. I don’t want any of the messages to save there. How do I get it to stop?
If I send mail through my regular account (on my laptop, not my blackberry) it doesn’t save a copy in the sent folder. Only when I send it using the blackberry….
