Beginner’s Guide To Building A PC
Most people think that building a computer is something that only computer experts can do. However, it is really not so difficult and almost anyone with basic technical knowledge can do it. The reason being that PCs come in modular designs, meaning that they all work in pretty much the same, and that putting one together is, more often than not, just a simple assembly process.
The first step to building a computer is to purchase the major components. You will need a stand (case), motherboard, processor (CPU), memory and power supply unit (PSU). Since the CPU is the heart of any computer, it is probably a good place to start. Once it has been selected, purchase the motherboard. You need to be careful in your purchasing decisions of these two parts, as not all CPUs are compatible with all motherboards. Memory compatibility with the motherboard can also be an issue, so that should probably be the third component that you buy.
The next major components to buy are the computer case and the PSU. These are often sold as a pre-assembled unit, but buying them separately is an option to consider. The PSU is very easy to install and purchasing it separately may open more possibilities to get a better unit.
Once you have all of major components that make up a PC, the next step is to choose and add in other components, such as the hard drive, monitor and speakers. These are manufactured to work on pretty much any PC, so compatibility is not an issue, and you can make your purchasing decisions based purely on preference and budget.
Having bought all of the required components, you will then need to piece them together. This is what worries most people, but those concerns are unfounded. Firstly, there will always be easy to follow instructions to accompany every component that you buy. Secondly, there is no soldering or special tools required, as everything simply slots / screws together.
Ineffective Mouse Button – How to Repair It by Yourself Quickly?
When you use the mouse to do your computer work, most frequently you press the left button, so the left mouse button is mangled or has weird problems most easily. Here I will take this left part as an example to show you how to repair an ineffective mouse, and the essential solution is to replace the button switch. Step 1 Remove the mouse lid and take out the circuit board. Step 2 Find out the left button switch and bear in mind its mounting type. Step 3 On the reverse side of the circuit board there are three pin joints. Put some rosin onto an electric iron and then heat these three joints with this iron. After that you can disassemble the switch by gently pulling it out. Step 4 Take the switch with you to the shop and buy a new one. Step 5 Melt down the tin in the switch mounting holes with the electric iron and punch the pin jacks with a pin. Step 6 Insert the new switch, drop some tin onto the three pin joints and make sure that they are welded steadily. Note that during the welding do not let the iron stay on the joints so long in case that the high temperature would damage the switch. If you can not get the same switch as you used before, well then you also can repair the mouse by exchanging the left button switch with the ball switch. Perform a FREE SCAN to see what problems your mouse driver has and how to fix them quickly and easily!
How to Let Your Slow Computer Run Fast
Computer would generate a great number of junk files that may slow down your computer over time. Then we need to check our computer and do some work to let it “lose its weight” from time to time. First, release disk space You can release spare disk space by using the Windows built-in disk cleanup to selectively or totally clean the targeted junks including temp Internet files, download files (Microsoft’s ActiveX controls and Java applets scripts), Windows temporary files, unused and optional Windows components, left-off installer as well as emptying the Recycle Bin. Here is the instruction: Step 1 Start – All Programs – Accessories – System Tools – Disk cleanup, and then select the drive you want to clean up, click OK. Step 2 Select the options and then the files you want to clean up in the dialog box. Step 3 Click OK and Yes to confirm these actions. A few minutes later, when the cleanup is over, you will find your computer system has been improved obviously. Second, disk defragmenter Disk fragments would affect the system performance. Too many file fragments would tamper with the computer read-write on the hard disk as well as extend the disk’s time of document retrievals and read-write. However, frequent disk defragmentations would bring certain wear and tear to the disk. Generally we recommend to defragmenter your disk in the following conditions: 1. When you create a mass of files. 2. When you free over 15% disk space. 3. When you install some new programs or a new Windows system. Specific steps are as bellows: Step 1 Start – All Programs – Accessories – System Tools – Disk Defragmenter. Step 2 Select the drive you want to tidy up in the Disk Defragmenter dialog box, and click Analyze. Step 3 Click View Report to read the Analyze Report, if the information suggests that you should defragmenter this volume, select Defragment. Step 4 When the Defragmentation is complete, you can choose View Report to see the result, and then click Close to finish checking. Step 5 Exist the Disk Defragmenter dialog box. Third, error checking and recovery of bad sectors Running your error detection program can help you find whether the stored files are missing and then improve your computer performance. If you frequently use your computer, we recommend you should run Error-checking once a week so to avoid data loss. Prior to running Error-checking, you should close all the running files. Step 1 Open My Computer, choose the drive you want to detect and right-click it, select Properties.
Step 2 In the Properties sheet select Tools.
Step 3 Select Check Now… in the Error-checking section.
Step 4 Choose Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors in the Check Disk box and then click Start.
Step 5 Select OK when the disk check is complete.

How to Increase Your Pc Memory
Computer going too slow? Not able to multi task like you want to? Your pc memory, not to be confused with your pc’s storage, is a great way to give your computer a boost. See how to do it here. Instructions Things You’ll Need:
- RAM that fits your computer
- Step 1 Begin by checking your motherboard information to see what the maximum supported RAM (random access memory) for your computer is. You can find this out by typing your computer or motherboard’s model number into google and searching for the max amount of memory. Also, either find how many memory slots your motherboard has by looking inside of your computer or finding it the same way you found the maximum supported memory.
- Step 2 Newer computers can hold more memory, even up to 32GB and more. Older computers may max out at 2gb, 4gb, etc. After you’ve checked that your motherboard can support more than 2gb, 4gb, or whichever amount you want to add, look around for some ram that you wish to buy. Before you buy ram, be sure that if you plan on exceeding 3.25GB of ram, that you purchase Windows Vista 64 bit. You will also need a 64 bit processor to run this operating system, but this OS will allow you to have virtually as much memory as your motherboard can hold.
- Step 3 Now let’s purchase some RAM. I prefer newegg.com, as it is much cheaper than local computer stores and you can buy sticks with more memory. Be sure that you buy ram that has the right pins as well for your motherboard. If you only have two slots, or plan on further upgrading, be sure to buy sticks with more ram per stick. For example, instead of buying 4 1gb Sticks, try to buy 2 2Gb sticks. I’m using 8GB of RAM, so I have 4 2GB sticks. Unless you’re into some high end gaming or production, you won’t need a rediculous amount of RAM. I would say 3GB is great for the average user, meaning that you don’t need to buy the 64 bit processor or operating system.

How to Make Your Laptop Run Faster
Do you have a slow laptop? If so, it’s probably a pain in the butt, and it can get frustrating, I understand! In order to speed up your computer, try out some of these tips.
- Step 1 Start by doing a disk de-fragmentation. You can do this by either searching for it on your operating system, or Googling it. This is all going to depend on your operating system, since they all run different. This should take a few hours to run, and is best to run overnight.
- Step 2 Clean up your computer files by going to your start button, hitting all programs, and click on accessories. Here, you’re going to find system tools, and after “disk clean up”. Clean on this, and you will clean up all the necessary files that are eating away at your computer speed.
- Step 3 Clean up your registry by finding registry cleaners online. There are a lot of them, so it’s up to you to find a good one. I would recommend that you use software rather than doing it yourself, since a small screw up with the registry can ruin your files, and computer.
- Step 4 Use free software like Adaware that will search for spyware, and any other junk hidden on your computer. This particular piece of software is free, and will clean up files you may not know you even had.
- Step 5 If you have to, upgrade your RAM. Memory generally runs from $20 to as much a few hundred, depending on what you want, and need. Head to your local computer store, or do a search online on what kind of RAM that you need.
